Brixology - Lego Camp

Step into the shoes of an engineer!  Using LEGO® bricks, campers take part in fun, physically active games based on daily themes, and build different engineering-themed projects each day.  They will explore engineering fields, and participate in collaborative challenges to solve real-world problems, while using critical thinking, cooperation and creative problem-solving skills to test and improve creations.

Take-home projects will be given daily to reinforce each concept.

*Please note: If your student has previously participated in a Brixology workshop or afterschool, they will see some repeat of activities*

Claws, Codes & Constellations-Science Explorations

Mad Science invites you to discover claws, codes and constellations with our exciting Camp Number 1. Following are some topics you will explore during this fun five-day camp. These are only a sample of some of the activities that you will be doing each day. The topics will not necessarily follow this order: Mad Messages, Earth Awareness, Science of Sport, Nature, and Space Day!

Moving with Science

Mad Science invites you to discover a week of all things science! Campers will dissect owl pellets and build a super strong bridge. Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Want a cool way to recycle a newspaper? How about turning it into a geodesic dome that you and your friends can sit in. Campers will explore the world of birds and beasts with birdhouse building and our super bug investigation. Campers will roll up their sleeves in the Mad Science chemistry lab and mix, mash and brew concoctions to create cool sidewalk chalk and bath fizzers! Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, simple machines and megapinchers! Campers will discover the wonders of photography.  It’s a week packed with non-stop science fun!

Chemicals, Cells & Crime-Gross Out Camp

Miss Manners might not approve but your child definitely will! Gross out camp is a week of learning about our gross bodily functions. Burping, boogers, excrement, gas, saliva, germs and how our brain, cells, heart, organs and blood contribute to this. Make exploding "toothpaste", edible excrement and handmade ice cream. Take home your own slimy "boogers"

 NASA Academy of Space Explorers

*Please note: If your student has previously participated in a NASA workshop or afterschool, they will see some repeat of activities*

From Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this hands-on Mad Science program sends campers on a quest for galactic exploration! Comets, planets, stars, constellations, eclipses and more are all waiting to be discovered. Learn the challenges of space travel and living in space. Build a model rocket and participate in a rocket launch.

*Available as a half day option ONLY*

Camp Eureka!

Children will overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and the most important of all- their mind. With a little bit of ingenuity, children will create catapults and forts, construct working light sticks to take home, and assemble a set of circuits with batteries and light bulbs. While Thomas Edison said, "invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration," this camp is 100% FUN!

Secret Agent Lab Camp

Suspects! Schematics! and Sleuths! Connect the dots using science to help solve a crime in this hands on investigation of the science of sleuthing. Uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis and fingerprinting detection. Enhance your recall and observation skills and learn how to use spy equipment
