Information and Topics

All of our programs can be adapted to suit the interests and understanding of pre-school children.

Children will learn about science by touching, feeling, and even tasting their science experiments. We leave children inspired and hungry to learn more. We spark imaginative learning!

Programs available for preschoolers:

  •  Adventures in Air:

Preschoolers will learn that even though air is invisible it is all around them all the time. They will also learn that air has the power to both move items and to slow them down. They will also experiment with a variety of items that rely on the air to help them move.

  •  Animal Friends
  • Bug Buddies:

Students will explore the world's most abundant animal. Insect defenses and their role in our ecosystems will be explored in fun, hands-on activities that introduce children to these fascinating creatures! Children will use their knowledge of insects to make their very own bug model to take home.

  •  Butterflies
  •  Color Lab:

This workshop will introduce preschoolers to the exciting world of color. They will make a new friend while learning about the colors of the rainbow and will experiment with their creative side during an activity on color mixing. Demonstrations will be conducted to introduce students to the primary colors as well as color mixing.

  • Digging for Dinosaurs:

Dinosaurs are always a huge hit with children, especially preschoolers. They will be introduced to the differences between meat eating and plant eating animals and will have the opportunity to look at some dinosaur teeth up close. They will also work as paleontologists by participating in a mini dinosaur dig that will engage their attention as well as their scientific skills.

  • Energy and Motion
  • Eye to Eye
  • Fluttering Birds:

Children will be excited to learn all about their fine feathered friends when they take a close look at birds. They will discover how to match bird mates, see what eggs are produced by which species; learn how a bird’s beak is a tool and how to identify different bird’s songs. Preschoolers will take home bird warblers to practice their bird songs at home.

Description:  “The Garden!” five-session preschool camp offers young children (ages 3-5) an exciting introduction to basic environmental science. Each session is devoted to different aspects of the garden, allowing children to progressively enrich their understanding of how living things grow and how they interact with the environment around them. During the course of each three-hour session, children will perform hands-on experiments, play themed games, and enjoy a snack and story related to the session’s themes. A mural will grow through the course of the program as children illustrate their latest discoveries at the close of each session.
